About Us

GasTurb is a powerful and user-friendly software suite for gas turbine performance analysis and preliminary design. 
In addition to the core GasTurb program, it includes related tools such as GasTurb Details, Smooth C, and Smooth T, supporting a wide range of analysis and simulation tasks.

GasTurb is developed and maintained by GasTurb GmbH, based in Aachen, Germany. The GasTurb software has been developed and used for over 30 years. Its ongoing development is carried out by our team, with experience from research, teaching, and industrial projects, and a strong link to practical application and engineering use. 

A central element of our activities is the continuous development of the software. Based on user feedback, research results, and practical use cases, we regularly extend GasTurb with new engine configurations, modelling approaches, and analysis capabilities.

We cooperate with universities and research institutes in several research projects in the field of propulsion and energy systems. In particular, we have a long-standing cooperation with the Institute of Jet Propulsion and Turbomachinery at RWTH Aachen University. Results from these projects are incorporated into GasTurb in the form of physics-based models and new engine configurations.

Our team is joined by experienced performance experts. Together, we support a broad international user community through technical assistance, training sessions, and consulting projects. Many users rely on GasTurb over long periods of time in research, education, and engineering practice, and we take this responsibility seriously.
